What experiences are available at ObliViaR?
We offer free roam VR and roomscale VR. We offer a wide range of experiences when you are in VR! Have a look at our experiences page for more details.
What is free roam VR?
Free roam VR allows players to move freely within a designated area while experiencing virtual reality. Unlike traditional VR, where movement is limited to the confines of a small space, free roam VR lets you explore larger environments and interact more dynamically with the game.
Do I need any previous experience with VR to play?
Not at all! Our VR experiences are designed to be easy and fun for players of all levels. Whether you're a VR newbie or an experienced gamer, our friendly team will guide you through the setup and ensure you have a fantastic time.
Do you offer any training or tutorials for beginners?
Yes, we offer brief tutorials before each session to help you get familiar with the VR equipment and controls. Our team is always available to answer any questions you have during your visit.
How many people can play at once?
The number of players varies by game. Some experiences are designed for solo players, while others can accommodate groups of players. Check the game details when booking for specific player limits.
Can I play with friends?
Absolutely! Many of our experiences are multiplayer, allowing you and your friends to team up and play together in the same virtual world. Perfect for group events, parties, or team-building activities!
Do I need to bring my own VR equipment?
No need to worry about bringing anything with you! All the VR equipment including headsets, controllers, and accessories are provided at obliViaR. Simply show up, and we’ll get you set up for an unforgettable experience.
Are there any health restrictions?
Participants should be in good health to enjoy VR experiences. If you have a history of epilepsy, severe motion sickness, or other medical conditions (such as a heart ailment, psychiatric conditions, anxiety disorders of post-traumatic stress disorder) that could be affected by VR, please consult with your doctor before playing.
Do I have to choose my experience in advance?
No! We know there are a lot of experiences to choose from….and we are here to help! Our Team can guide you on what might be a good choice for you!
Will I get help during the experience?
Absolutely! Our Team is there to help you and ensure you have a great time! Our Experience Masters will explain the controls and games to you. They will also monitor you during your experience to ensure you are getting the most from your experience. If you do need help with anything – just let us know!
Is there an age limit to participate?
Yes, participants must be at least 8 years old to enjoy our VR experiences. Certain games may have higher age requirements, so please check the game's details before booking.
What should I wear?
Comfort is key! We recommend wearing casual clothes and comfortable footwear. Avoid wearing any accessories like hats or jewellery, as they may interfere with the equipment.
Can I wear glasses while using the VR headset?
Yes, our VR headsets are designed to accommodate most glasses. If you have particularly large frames, you may want to wear contacts for the best experience.
What if I wear a hearing aid or have other specific needs?
We strive to make our VR experiences accessible to everyone. If you have any special needs or requirements, please let us know in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Is ObliViaR wheelchair accessible?
Yes, our facility is wheelchair accessible. If you have any specific accessibility needs, please contact us in advance, and we'll do our best to accommodate you. For an optimal VR experience, users need to be able to move their head and neck and have the use of at least one hand to interact with the environment. Our VR Experience Masters will happiy recommend more accessible experiences for you to try.
How long is each VR session?
Session lengths vary depending on the game. Most experiences last between 30 to 60 minutes. Please check the game details when booking.
Do you offer group bookings or private events?
Absolutely! We offer special packages for group bookings, corporate events, and private parties. Contact us at hello@obliviar.co.uk for more information and to customize your VR experience.
Is it safe to play VR at obliViaR?
Safety is our top priority! Our arena is designed with your safety in mind, with plenty of space to move around and avoid collisions. Our team will provide a safety briefing before you begin and monitor your session to ensure a safe experience. We regularly sanitise our equipment and follow all recommended guidelines for hygiene and safety.
Will I walk into walls or other people?
If you are playing in our free roam arena, you can see other players in the game. The software will also guide you and let you know if you are getting close to a wall!
Is my Headset clean?
All equipment is thoroughly sanitised after each use, ready for its next user!
Will I be playing with strangers?
When booking, you can opt to make your booking private so only you and your crew play together. Otherwise, you may get some people joining in the fun with you if they want to have the same experience as you at the same time.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my booking?
We understand that plans can change. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact us at least 24 hours in advance. Refer to our Cancellation Policy for more details.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Yes, there are ample parking spaces available for our guests.
Do you offer food and drinks on-site?
We sure do! We have a selection of hot and cold drinks and a small selection of snacks are available to purchase in our café area. There are also several nearby restaurants and a pub where you can grab a meal before or after your VR session.
How can I prepare for my visit?
Arrive 15 minutes early to check in and get set up. We recommend reviewing the game details and requirements on our website before your visit.
Do I need to sign a waiver?
Yes, for safety reasons, all participants are required to sign a waiver before their session. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian will need to sign on your behalf.
Can I play if I'm pregnant?
It's best to consult with your doctor before participating in VR experiences if you are pregnant. We prioritise the health and safety of all our guests.
What happens if I experience motion sickness?
If you start feeling motion sickness, please inform our team immediately. We can pause the experience and provide assistance.
Can I take photos or videos while playing?
For the best experience, we recommend focusing on the game itself. However, you're welcome to take photos and videos in the lobby area. Our team can also take a few photos of you in action if you like!
Do you offer any discounts or promotions?
Yes! We offer a loyalty programme, just ask for a card! Your 5th visit is 50% off and your 10th visit is FREE. We also offer Memberships - please call or email us to discuss.
What is the cost of a VR session?
Pricing varies depending on the game and duration. Visit our Booking Page for detailed information on costs and any ongoing promotions.
Can I book a session for a special occasion?
Absolutely! We love hosting birthdays, anniversaries, and other special events. Contact us to discuss your needs, and we’ll help make your occasion unforgettable.
Can I host a private event at obliViaR?
Yes, obliViaR is an excellent venue for private events like birthday parties, corporate team-building, or any special occasion! We offer group bookings and party packages to ensure your event is a hit. Contact us for more details on how to organize your event.
What should I do if I’m going to arrive late?
We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your scheduled session to allow for check-in and a quick safety briefing. If you’re running late, let us know as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to accommodate you, but your session might be shortened depending on availability.
Can I book another slot if I’m there already and having fun?
If we have availability – of course you can! Just have a chat with a team member and they will do their best to help the fun continue for you!
Do I have to book or can I just walk in?
You don’t have to book with us, however we would highly recommend that you do to avoid disappointment. We can get very busy at peak times so booking is your best option.
Can I drink alcohol before my VR Experience?
obliViaR is a social experience. While a few drinks are fine, excessive alcohol can impair your VR experience. To ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment, please arrive as sober as possible. We also enforce a strict no drugs policy. If our staff determine that you are too intoxicated, we may ask you to reschedule without a refund. Read more in our Terms and conditions.
